Travelling to Villefranche
Only 30 minutes from Nice International Airport, you can get to the town of Villefranche-sur-Mer by taxi, bus, train or by renting your own car. Located just 6 kilometres east of Nice, the quickest and easiest route from Nice airport is via taxi. Taking around 20-30 minutes from the airport, the journey will cost approximately €60.
Getting to Villefranche is easily accessible by car too. Take the charming road along the Moyenne or Basse Corniche to take in one of the most dramatic and inspiring views in Europe.
Alternatively, you can take the 98 bus from the airport to Nice station, swapping in Nice to the number 100 towards Monaco/Menton and getting off at ‘Villefranche Octroi’. You can get the bus from either terminal 1 or 2 of the airport, taking you right to the centre ville/gare routiere (bus station). Or get when you get to Nice, you can take the five-minute train ride directly to Villefranche station.
The bus is the cheapest option of them all costing just €1.50 to travel along the French Riviera, no matter where you’re travelling to or from. Whilst it is the cheapest, the bus to Villefranche stops running at 19:50 pm each day and the train around midnight. Although, you can use the Noctambus service throughout the night from Nice Airport, connecting you to the major towns in the surrounding area. Be aware that if you’re using public transport, the bus does not start operating until 7 am and the train around 6 am.
The house is in a pedestrian area although there is ample street parking nearby. The town is best seen on foot where you can find lots of small shops, restaurants and even visit the market on a Saturday and Sunday.
